A recent investigation by the Health and Youth Care Inspectorate (IGJ) revealed that companies regularly exceed the permitted dosage of melatonin in food supplements, whilst only < 0.3 mg is permitted. According to the IGJ, products containing 0.3 mg or more are classified as medicinal products. At present, the IGJ is still issuing warnings, but from 1 July 2020, it will begin imposing fines.
DuSart Pharma also manufactures various melatonin products, such as capsules and tablets. We’ve recently started offering a natural melatonin extracted from pistachios! Curious? Get in touch – we’d be delighted to tell you more about it!
